Exposed brick walls have become a popular feature in
interior design, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this trend which
first kicked into popularity towards the end of the Nineties and shows no sign
of diminishing.
Now with new interesting
techniques, this particular design feature has evolved and is increasingly making
its way into more of our homes to create that unique gritty, earthy feel.
At first the brick look was popular in small doses and was mainly
used for fireplaces and surrounds, but soon spread into the living, dining,
kitchen and sleeping areas. Bare brick
is a statement piece in its own right; it can be simplistic and yet add real
depth, character and rustic charm to a space.
Warm and textural, it stands alone in the way a white wall doesn't. The architectural beauty of bricks inside the
home cannot be denied, and whether it’s just an element or an entire façade -
remember ‘less is more’.
It is amazing how brick interiors can change the entire feel
and look of a room. By using different
hues, textures and colours, you can create a contemporary look with a country
style twist and vice versa. So whatever
your style, modern or classic, you can find and create the space that is right
for you.
So if you’re lucky enough to live in a
home which already has the natural beauty of exposed brick work, then like high
cheek bones, use it to your advantage!!
