From ultra modern to ultra classic; mirrors
come in many different styles, shapes and sizes. To some they are functional -
a decorative element or a piece of furniture that is there to fill an empty
space. To others they represent a statement piece - a feature or the main focal
point of a room. If you can get it right, a mirror can create a real wow
factor.
Mirrors have many functions to create the
illusion of space, light and enhancement and whilst many people are scared to
go big, it goes without saying that a mirror is best placed across something
that is worth looking at and wants to be enhanced.
A popular trend for 2013 has been the grouping
of mirrors in an interesting and exploratory manner. This has become very
common in the bedroom, but can also be seen in other areas. By displaying
mirrors in different ways, it can help create a more contemporary or
traditional style.
As people try to push the boundaries of modern
interiors, leaner mirrors are also becoming more fashionable and are great
within a large space to convey a refreshing look for the elongation of
walls. Some might say they are a
distraction, but that is for you to decide.
