Deep Blue

None for having a calming effect, this colour may be cool, but it’s certainly hot in the design world at the moment.

Inky blues, blue greys, blue blacks and even purple blues show a contemporary sensibility and style that works well in both classic and modern interiors.

Used as a dominant colour, on walls, floors or even on curtains, dark blue oozes a classy aura and is great at anchoring other elements in a room. Like the new black, treat it like a monochrome; a sophisticated neutral that complements and delineates furniture and soft furnishings.

Paint, paper or panel the walls.  The effect is incredible when it is teamed with complementary colours that can support the intensity of this colour.  Use green, beige, yellow, orange, light browns and tans.

I’m just loving this colour, it definitely is my new black - What do you think?

Interior Landscapes

In recent years, there has been a definite shift in the way that houses and interiors have been built to create living spaces to give us that greener approach.

As walls come down to give us that flowing interior space, the outside walls have followed suite to bring natures landscapes into our interior space.

I can only imagine that architects absolutely love this found freedom to create a living space that is architecturally pleasing on the eye as well as bathing the interior space in light and space.

This has also changed the perspective design on the interior space too and more and more product and interior designers are creating landscape interior spaces that I believe is just amazingly inspiring.
